Secure Premises Information Boxes, High Security and Standard

Secure Information Boxes form part of the essential firefighting equipment under Regulation 7 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for High Rise Buildings.

Monthly checks are required on key fire-fighting equipment and this includes the PIB, whilst regular plans audits are required to ensure contents remain current.

Under the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order, the Responsible Person must ensure that the premises and any facilities, equipment and devices provided in respect of the premises for the use by or protection of firefighters “are in efficient working order and in good repair.” Section 38(1).
This applies to any premises not just HRBs.

In order to keep your PIB / SIB in good working order and your plans up-to-date, Gerda Security offer a number of service options for the Building Provider whatever the building or premises type.

ACB™

Access Control Box

The Access Control Box (ACB™) is for designated access for the Fire and Rescue Service only.

It is designed to protect the
control switch for access control on new build residential buildings and buildings where there has been major refurbishment.

The ACB is designed to sit over the switch, as per SBD guidance “Homes 2024″. Note 29.44 stipulates maintenance options to be provided by the manufacturer owing to more traditional drop key systems being easily obtained and leave the building vulnerable to crime and anti-social behaviour.”

Gerda Security offer a number of service options for the Building Provider.

GFS™

Firefighter Access Switch

The Firefighter Access Switch (GFS) is designed to provide dedicated access to buildings for firefighters.

It enables buildings owners & responsible persons to regain control and manage the access of their buildings, whilst maintaining 24/7 access to the Fire and Rescue Service in the event of an incident.
Previously access to fireman’s switch plates has been compromised through the wide availability of the ‘drop key’ leading to security breaches within buildings.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, the Responsible Person must ensure that any facilities and equipment used by the Fire and Rescue Service are in efficient working order and good repair.

Our supply and install option offers an extended 5 year warranty with our maintenance package. Please enquire for further details.

EC Enclosure™

EACIE Enclosure

EACIE Enclosures form part of the essential firefighting equipment under Regulation 7 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 for High Rise Buildings.

Monthly checks are required on key fire-fighting equipment and this includes the EACIE – both the Enclosure and the Evacuation Alert Panel.

In order to keep your EACIE Enclosure in good working order and your plans up-to-date, Gerda Security offer a number of service options for the Building Provider whatever the building or premises type.

H System®

H System

The H System, developed as a high performance locking system keeping areas of restricted access secure, is kitemarked and Secured by Design.

Its a highly regarded system, tailored to an organisation’s needs, whilst simultaneously permitting access to the Fire and Rescue Service.

Whilst it is generally in the best interests of security to conduct maintenance checks on the doors* protecting an area of restricted access, it is also good practice to ensure that they are in good working order for FRS access.

For service options please contact us for further information.

*H System locks are certified for security but are available on fire rated doorsets – see the Service Room Doorsets ranges for further information.

BGL®

Barrier Gate Lock (BGL)®

The Barrier Gate Lock system deveoped for vehicular access management is innovative in its purpose to prevent fly-tipping and unauthorised parking.

Designed so the key is not able to be removed until a gate is closed, the system works well for estates and areas requiring authorised access, whilst also permitting immediate Fire and Rescue Service access.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, the Responsible Person must ensure that the premises and any facilities, equipment and devices provided in respect of the premises for the use by or protection of firefighters “are in efficient working order and in good repair.” Section 38(1).

We offer service options for the Building Provider to assist with this requirement.

DPB™

Drop Key Protection Box

The Drop Key Protection box was introduced as a means to address security issues arising through the drop key switch being widely available for fireman’s switches. Leading to security vulnerabilities in buildings.

The DPB sits over existing fireman’s switch plates. The Firefighter Access Switch is designed as a longer term solution to address this problem.

Designed to replace existing switch plates, it is a robust option offering dedicated access to firefighters though their GSP One Key System.

We offer service options on the DPBs – please enquire for further information.
