Latest HRBs and HRRBs are subject to recent legislative requirements including the need for a secure information box; Evacuation Alert Control and Indicating Equipment and if Secured by Design accredited, an ACB to protect the access control switch. Additionally knowing you have fully tested and third party certified doors in sustainable materials, offering robustness and longevity for the building owner, will assist in achieving those Net Zero carbon objectives.

The latest Building Regulations 2010 Approved Document B for fire safety (June 2022), effective 01.12.22 and Fire Safety (England) 2022 regulations effective 23.01.23 call for secure information boxes on new build HRRBs over 11m and existing HRRBs over 18m Information Boxes respectively.

HRBs under the Building Safety Act should also consider a secure information box (Premises Information Box) for the provision of premises plans and information to attending firefighters in the event of an incident.

Rivermead Islands is Anglia Ruskin University’s iconic purpose-built student accommodation in Chelmsford.

With the Chelmsford site being home to Essex’s first School of Medicine, and a large business school., the accommodation has an important role to play.

Enfield Speciality Doors produced doors ready to install for a range of locations, including ensuite double bedrooms; corridors and kitchens.

A large project, the fire doors including a combination of FD30 and FD60 doors, often featuring glazed panels, for the kitchen areas. Glazed corridor doors and 300 student bedroom doors.

The new-build student accommodation at St. Chads, St Catherine’s College, University of Cambridge, was an important addition to the student community.

Enfield Speciality Doors was asked to work on this prestigious development by a longstanding contractor, to produce fire doorsets for student rooms, hallways, communal kitchens and lounge areas.

Featuring doors in maple veneer with a fire resistance rating of 30 minutes and an acoustic rating of 29dB.
