The built environment is not uniform and buildings vary in age from Victorian to 50 s, 60s and 70s high storey buildings. Having a range of manufacturer-owned primary fire tests and smoke control tests means there is the breadth of testing to accommodate the variations that can and do occur.

The Safer Homes doorset ranges comprises 28 successful primary fire resistance tests to BS EN 1634-1 for fire resistance, exceeding the requisite time of thirty minutes in all tests.

And 9 full scale smoke leakage tests to BS EN 1634-3, as well as further tests not having the letterplate and the threshold not being taped, so as to replicate real conditions.

Effective smoke leakage prevention through good design is key. Through our work with smoke pod demonstrations and live smoke tests in actual high rise buildings not in use, we endeavour to demonstrate this important aspect of fire safety.
