Restricted Area Locking Systems

The Gerda FRS Padlock GFP™, the H System®, and the Barrier Gate Lock System® form part of Gerda Security’s approach to Emergency Access Systems, designed to keep restricted areas secure while enabling 24/7 access for the Fire and Rescue Service via the GSP One Key® System.

The Gerda FRS Padlock GFP™ is a new addition to the range, offering a robust, high-security solution for securing access points such as bollards, barrier gates, bin stores, and storage units. Designed for emergency service use, it can also be keyed for end-user access where needed, making it flexible for shared operational control.

The H System® is a high-performance, security kitemarked and Secured by Design®-approved system, developed for internal service and plant areas including electrical cupboards, boiler rooms, lift motor rooms, roof hatches, dry riser cabinets, and water tank rooms.

The Barrier Gate Lock System®, also Secured by Design® approved, is designed to support vehicular access management for estates and restricted access areas, providing controlled access without compromising emergency response.

All systems are built for durability and long service life, offering low-maintenance solutions that support operational efficiency and fire safety compliance. We can also provide suiting options across our Emergency Access Systems, helping simplify key management across your estate.

Gerda FRS Padlock GFP™

Gerda FRS Padlock GFP™

Traditional FB padlocks often fall short in providing robust security, with keys easily accessible online. But with the introduction of the Gerda FRS Padlocks (GFP)™, organisations benefit from enhanced security padlocks with class 3 and class 4 security levels, protecting their property and providing peace of mind that the Fire and Rescue Service can gain access in the event of an incident.

With nationwide Fire and Rescue Services coverage, organisations no longer need to distribute keys to the FRS. This removes the need for reliance on specific personnel, power, or signal coverage for emergency access—ensuring both security and rapid response capability.

Vehicular restricted access

Vehicular restricted access

The Barrier Gate Lock system (BGL)® was designed and developed to address the issue of gates being inadvertently left unlocked and thereby open to misuse and fly-tipping.

Gerda Security worked with large local authorities to understand the nature of the problem to provide a solution.

The problem was essentially leaving gates open.

The Barrier Gate Lock system is designed to only be able to retrieve the key once the gate is closed to. Simple but effective.

This Secured by Design locking system, is able to be fitted to swing gates, the system comprises the lock itself; connectors for gate posts and keys suited specifically to the locking section for the organisation and its users.

Ideal for enclosed areas requiring vehicular access management, including local authorities, property management companies, rural estates and areas of restricted access.

H System Security

H System® Security

The H System was designed and developed by Gerda Security to address the issue of plant and service rooms routinely being breached and used for anti-social behaviour.

Discarded drug syringes / damaged electrical equipment / damaged lift rooms, meant that it was hazardous for the Fire & Rescue Service attending incidents and needing to access these areas.

Gerda Security worked with large local authorities to understand the nature of the problem to provide a solution.

A robust, secure reliable locking system was needed to enable asset management to maintain their service and plant rooms in a good condition, whilst permitting access to the Fire and Rescue Service in the event of an incident.

The design of the H System

The design of the H System®

The H System is designed to provide restricted access with locking systems tailored to the requirements of a customer’s buildings. Keys are available through an authorised key signatory process – via the registered keyholder whose role under the Building Safety Act is that of dutyholder. Gerda Security is the sole authorised channel for genuine Gerda keys.

This Secured by Design locking system, is able to be fitted to security doors, both steel and timber. For fire door applications, the H System is available in the Gerda Security range of Service Room Doorsets for both internal and external (UKCA compliant) applications.
