Access Control Protection

The Firefighter Access Switch (GFS)™ and Access Control Box (ACB)™

The Firefighter Access Switch (GFS)™ and Access Control Box (ACB)™ enhance security for building entrances, prioritising the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS).

Traditionally, the FRS used ‘drop keys’ for access, but security has weakened as these keys became are widely available to unauthorised users.  This can lead to a poor access management and in some instances anti-social behaviour. Gerda Security Products innovated the (GFS)™ to counter this problem. The Access Control Box (ACB)™ serves a similar role, safeguarding access control switches exclusively for the Fire and Rescue Service, ensuring a higher level of security and minimising unauthorised entry concerns.

Firefighter Access Switch (GFS)™

The development of the Firefighter Access Switch was prompted by the vulnerability of traditional drop keys, which were commonly utilised for Fire and Rescue Services (FRS) access.

Unauthorised access brings with it a number a problems including  potential disruption to residents. The Firefighter Access Switch can be fitted in place of a Fireman’s Switch Plate.

It is uniquely designed to be operated solely by the GSP One Key® System used by the fire and rescue service within their jurisdiction.

Unlike drop keys, the keys for building providers are subject to a strict authorised key signatory system and separate to the GSP One Key® System used by the FRS.

ACB™

Access Control Box™ (ACB)

The Access Control Box (ACB)™ is designed to house and protect access control switches, commonly integrated into new builds. These switches, utilised by the Fire & Rescue Service, facilitate entry into buildings and communal areas by deactivating power.

The ACB serves as a secure enclosure, enabling FRS access through their  GSP One Key® System, effectively preventing unauthorised use. It’s important to emphasise that the switch itself is not included.

DPB™

The Drop Key Protection Box (DPB)

The Drop Key Protection Box (DPB) is designed to protect the Fireman’s Switch Plate. This is because the drop keys used in the  Fireman’s Switch Plate are widely available, thereby  compromising authorised access to the building.

Access by the Fire and Rescue Service is facilitated through the GSP One Key® System, followed by the use of a drop key to activate the switch.

For a more streamlined solution, refer to the NEW Firefighter Access Switch (GFS)™.
