Gerda flat entrance & apartment doorsets have been extensively tested as a complete doorset in primary full scale tests for Fire Resistance to both sides of the doorset, Smoke Control, Security, Acoustics, Weathering (for balcony & external applications), Durability and Energy Conservation.

Trusted Performance

	Fire Resistance Tested to the fire standards of EN 1634-1 or BS 476-22 to both sides of the doorsets. Certified under third party certification scheme the Q Mark Fire.
	Smoke Control Tested to EN1634-3 for smoke control. Important as smoke causes more injuries and deaths than fire.
	Security Both ranges are PAS24:2016 certified and meet Secured by Design requirements.
	Acoustics Tested to EN ISO 10140-2:2010.
	Weathering Extensively tested to BS6375 part 1, including wind resistance, air permeability and water tightness.
	Durability Comprehensively tested to BS6375 part 2, in 8 individual tests, including soft/hard body impact & repeating opening/closing of 50,000 cycles.
	Energy Conservation Contemporary Range™ - 1.8W/m²K for solid doorsets and 1.7 & 1.8W/m²K for glazed doorsets. Safer Homes Range™ - 1.5W/m²K for solid doorsets and 1.6W/m²K for glazed doorsets.

Accreditations

ADQ and ADB Approved Doorsets

Following the Housing Standards Review conducted by the DCLG, the government has now issued a new building regulation for the security of dwellings. Much content of Approved Document Q (ADQ) has been adopted from Secured by Design requirements.

“It is extremely important that specifiers and developers can recognise that a product is ADQ compliant whilst also meeting the performance standards required for other building regulations. Test evidence and certification must be checked. With the introduction of new building regulations in housing, it is most important that specifiers and developers can recognise product that is compliant.” Jon Cole, National Operations Manager, Secured by Design.

For specifiers, knowing which entrance doors to choose can present a challenge. Entrance doorsets for flats and apartments are likely to require a fire rating to comply with Approved Document B for fire safety, as well as meeting Approved Document L for thermal insulation and now Approved Document Q for security. Throw in the fact that some doorsets will be glazed and will have toplights and sidelights – means that it is most important that the right choice is made for compliant doors.
