Reflecting our ethos, Gerda community activities seek to improve the communities that we live and work in in a number of ways – from apprenticeships to raising money for good causes. Find out more about these activities below, or click here to learn more about Gerda.
Gerda-Led Employment & Upskilling Initiatives
We have run apprenticeship and training schemes, where apprentices learn manufacturing and installation skills for the correct fitting of fire doorsets. The schemes run over a number of years and we are proud to say that the apprentices have gone on to practise their skills and knowledge in the workplace.
Gerda Community Activities With Emergency Services
Gerda is the proud sponsor of the England Fire & Rescue Service Football Team. Annual matches are played against the Army, Navy and RAF, as well as the Scotland and Wales Fire & Rescue Service Teams. Community events include venues around the country, giving the opportunity for local schools to participate in training sessions with the players and find out about their local fire service.
Gerda Community Activities for Charities & Good Causes
Gerda supports a number of local-level initiatives, including the wildlife scheme in Camden and the Bury St Edmunds junior hockey team who recently ranked as one of the top ten teams in England. We also support the Safe4kids scheme.
Our national sponsorship commitments include the Head and Neck Cancer Trust – raising monies through vintage car rallies, and raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity.
